1. What We Collect

When you register for an account, we collect:

Email address — used for account identification, password resets, and moderation notifications.
Username and display name — shown publicly alongside content you submit (pledges, stories, forum posts).
Content you submit — pledges, stories, forum threads, and replies are stored and displayed publicly when approved.

We also collect non-personal analytics data via Umami (self-hosted): page views, referrer, browser type, and country-level location. No cookies are used for analytics. No personal data is sent to third parties.

2. How We Use Your Data

To operate the community features of this site.
To moderate content and enforce our terms of service.
To improve the site through aggregate analytics.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored on a private VPS server. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt with a work factor of 12. Communications are encrypted via HTTPS. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

4. Your Rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Right to Access

You can view all personal data we hold by visiting your Account Settings page and using the "Export My Data" function.

Right to Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data from your Account Settings page. This permanently removes your profile, pledges, stories, forum threads, and replies.

Right to Rectification

You can update your display name and bio from your account settings at any time.

Right to Object

You may object to analytics tracking by using a browser extension that blocks scripts.

5. Cookies

We use a single localStorage token for session management (JWT). No tracking cookies are used. Our self-hosted analytics (Umami) does not use cookies and is fully GDPR-compliant.

6. Third-Party Services

We host our own fonts via Google Fonts. Your browser may request font files from Google's servers. No other third-party services are used.
